Workshops

I teach a range of workshops in STEM, including 3D Printing, 3D modelling, Arduino, Wearable Technology and Makerspace Basics.  I often travel to Brisbane, Toowoomba, Fraser Coast and across South East Queensland for workshops.  I have run workshops in the past for the QUT Creative Enterprise, Science Teachers Association Queensland, Sedgman, Brisbane Workshop and many more.  If you’d like to get a quote on a session, send me an email at [email protected].

3D Printing Workshops

This class will walk you through what all the 3D printing hype is about and teach you how to make your own 3D printed life hacks for around the house or at work.
Steph will reveal the best places to find 3D models and explore different 3D scanning techniques.  You’ll learn about different considerations to 3D model for 3D printing, material choices, printer capabilities and how to finish your models with smoothing techniques and painting.

3D Modeling Workshops

This workshop can be and combined into a comprehensive 3D printing/3D modeling session, where participants learn how to create their own life hacks and replacement parts.  This session can be tailored to preferred 3D modelling suites, including Rhinoceros 3D, Fusion 360, Onshape, MeshMixer and TinkerCAD.  Steph will cover design optimisation for 3D printing, different methods for 3D scanning on a budget and showcase techniques to create various stylised models.

Wearable Technology Workshops

This workshop will explore how you can digitally enhance fashion with lights and electronics. This kit-based session will teach you the basics of working with Arduino, RGB sewable LEDs, conductive thread, LilyTiny and LED sequins. You’ll learn how to create a circuit in stainless steel thread and upload code to control your LEDs.

Arduino Workshops

This workshop will step you through the basics of Arduino in this hands-on session. You’ll receive a kit to take home and continue to experiment with. Some of the skills you’ll learn include circuit basics, blinking an LED, driving an RGB LED, use push buttons, read a photoresistor and drive a servo motor.  For this workshop, you’ll need to bring your own laptop with the Arduino IDE pre-installed.

Kids Workshops: Scribble bots

Make a scribble bot in this all ages family friendly activity. Design your own robot and see what art you can create.  Combine a motor, pens and batteries for a spinning, dancing, drawing robot.
